Don Gage VTA Board Member
Santa Clara County Supervisor Don Gage serves on the VTA Board of Directors representing Group 5 (County of Santa Clara), having done so since 2001. He also serves on the Administration and Finance Committee, Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, and Executive Evaluation Committee at VTA.
Member Gage serves on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors. Elected in 1997, and again in 1998, 2002 and 2006, he represents Supervisorial District 1, which includes the cities of Morgan Hill, Gilroy, the Town of Los Gatos, and portions of South San José, as well as San Martin and other unincorporated areas. District 1 encompasses 70 percent of the County's land area.
Prior public service began in 1981 with his election to the Gilroy City Council. He served on the Council until 1991, when he was elected Gilroy's mayor, a position he held until 1997.
Member Gage grew up on a small farm outside Gilroy and is a life-long resident of Santa Clara County. He attended local schools and earned his degree in Law Enforcement. He worked for IBM for many years.
