Sunday/Holiday Schedule observed on Memorial Day
San Jose, Calif. – The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will participate in the National Moment of Remembrance this Memorial Day. Americans will pause during the National Moment of Remembrance for a moment of reflection at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 26, 2008.
All VTA Bus and Light Rail vehicles in service will stop at a safe location for approximately one minute. During this period of reflection, bus and light rail operators will make a brief announcement. VTA operators will announce the following message; spoken years ago by Abraham Lincoln, "The mystic chords of memory should swell into a mighty chorus of remembrance, gratitude and rededication.” At this time, please observe with us a few moments of silence in memory and gratitude for all those who served and gave their lives for our country.
The moment of reflection will not have a significant impact to VTA Bus and Light Rail schedules.
