VTA Holds Community Meeting on Blossom Hill Bicycle-Pedestrian Overcrossing Project

San Jose, Calif.-The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is holding a community meeting on the Blossom Hill Bicycle-Pedestrian Overcrossing Project this week and community members are invited to attend. The project is part of a comprehensive program of safety improvements for Caltrain. The meeting is an ongoing public outreach effort on the Blossom Hill Bicycle-Pedestrian Overcrossing Project’s status with the Edenvale/Great Oaks Plan Implementation Coalition (EGOPIC) and takes place Wednesday, June 4, 2008.
In addition to crossing the railroad tracks, the planned 300 feet over-crossing will also span Monterey Road allowing safe pedestrian crossing of both the railroad tracks and the highway.

This location is served by VTA Bus Line 68.
VTA secured federal funding in the amount of $1.98 million for the Blossom Hill Bicycle-Pedestrian Overcrossing Project. The City of San Jose contributed $250,000. The project has an estimated total cost of $10 million and funding for the remainder of it comes from a variety of sources including VTA’s 2000 Measure A and California’s Infrastructure Bond, Proposition 1B passed by the voters in 2007.
